Yep, CNN named Watamu the second best beach in all of Africa, only after Sharm el-Sheikh. (But who wants to go to a city beach anyway? Not us.) A 5 km long beach set in a marine park means pure white sand, no commercialism, no riff raff, no onshore fishing—just a peaceful, long stretch of blinding-white beach with pristine conditions most of the year. At low tide Heavenly has access to the full length of Turtle Bay, and at high tide a headland magically turns Heavenly into its own private cove. It doesn't get much better than this.
